Bethesda Moving Tips
The Ultimate Guide to Moving to Bethesda
Make Moving Easy with This Handy Guide!
Moving can be a daunting process, but it doesn't have to be all that stressful! With a little organization and a lot of hard work, you can cut the frustration out of relocating. Check out my guide to a stress-free moving process so you can spend less time unpacking and more time enjoying your new beautiful Bethesda home.
Before You Move...
Take it one step at at time! Rome wasn't built in a day and it's not realistic for your moving process to be that short either. Prepare for your moving day before you even start packing with the following steps.
Lighten Your Load
As you're packing, sort everything you own into 3 categories: keep, sell, donate. There's no use in packing something that just clutters your home! Hold a garage sale, or try to sell your wares online. Whatever doesn't sell you can simply donate and get a discount on your taxes. You'll clean out your clutter and be able to make some extra money.
Pack For Future You
Help out future you by packing things by how you want them unpacked! Put all your kitchen things in one box, living room accessories in another, and so on, and label them accordingly. When you move, simply put the labeled boxes in the corresponding room, eliminating the time waste of opening multiple boxes to find one thing.
I touched upon this in the last tip, but make sure you mark your boxes! If you pack by room, that doesn't help unless you know what room you're delivering the box to. Cut out moving confusion and the hassle of dragging boxes room to room by clearly labeling them ahead of time. Future you will thank you!
On Moving Day
You've made it this far! The hard part is over, stay calm and organized on the big day by following these steps.
Keep Your Essentials Handy
Unforeseen time delays are unfortunately a part of moving, so it's good practice to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Keep an extra outfit handy in a separate bag, as well as your passport, license, major documents, and a first aid kit. While you probably won't need them, it's best to know where these essentials are!
Be Able to be Reached
Keep your cell phone charged throughout the day as best you can, and make sure you have the numbers of your movers, helpers, and family members in your contacts. Communication is key when it comes to a stress free move, and being able to be contacted is a surefire way to help things go smoothly.
